ALOHA!

I’m a leading Yoga teacher on Maui and founder of 10ya Yoga, LLC. For the past thirty five years I have been teaching mind and body classes, workshops, and retreats all over the world including ten years in London, England.

My yoga journey began at a very young age when I started dancing and performing. In 1988 I progressed into teaching mind body movement and dance classes. Incorporating my vast experience and knowledge as a past dancer, choreographer, performer, and fitness teacher, I then fell in love with the practice of yoga and found my true calling to teach yoga.

In 1999, I originally trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and since 2001 have had extensive training with Shiva Rea. My earlier training in Ashtanga Yoga include David Swenson, John Scott, and Liz Lark, which are some of my most influential teachers.

I’ve infused my passion for music and dance, developing my very own unique style of fluid, dynamic, and graceful Vinyasa Flow yoga. I use sequences using a krama  (layering from gentle to strong) system, a mindful flow of postures, linking asanas with pranayama, while incorporating gentle, relaxing, and restorative techniques. In addition to my Vinyasa, Slow Flow and Gentle classes as monthly memberships, I also teach Continuing Education courses for teachers and wellness professionals.

I’m an E-RYT 500 Advanced Teacher Trainer with Yoga Alliance and a YACEP and ACE Continuing Education Provider. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in Theater, Dance, and Fitness.

My philosophy embraces the physical, spiritual, and healing qualities of yoga, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, peace, honesty, and mindfulness in order to find self-realization.

I believe yoga is for everyone and encourage all levels to create, energize, restore, and enjoy.  My teachings are with compassion and a sense of "aloha,” which can best be described as intuitive, creative, passionate, enthusiastic, warm, open-hearted, and fun. My passion for yoga balances the physical, spiritual, and healing element for overall well-being. I also believe the journey of yoga is being in the present moment, listening to the sat-guru (inner-guru), finding your intelligent edge, and most of all enjoying the process. I love giving back to my local community and providing a sense of connection that yoga brings into my life on and off the mat.  When I’m not teaching you’ll find me at the beach with my children.
